Star week heats up … While the NFL will take a bit of a break next week in anticipation of the Super Bowl on February 13th, the post-season all-star games will be taking center stage with the Senior Bowl scheduled for next Saturday in Mobile, while the East-West Shrine game will be played Thursday night in Las Vegas. In fact, while the Senior Bowl practices get underway on Tuesday, practices for the Shrine game are already underway at UNLV with the second of four days of workouts scheduled for today. And while the Shrine game doesn’t have the star power of the Senior Bowl, there are still some interesting players in Las Vegas this week including QBs D’Eriq King of Miami, Iowa State’s Brock Purdy, Skylar Thompson of Kansas State and Brown’s EJ Perry, while other players of note include South Dakota State RB Pierre Strong, who led all FCS rushers with almost 1,700 yards on the ground this fall and Western Kentucky WR Jerreth Sterns, who led all FBS receivers with just over 1,900 yards this season. Meanwhile, other players to watch at Shrine week include Indiana WR Ty Fryfogle, Washington OT Jaxson Kirkland, Boston College C Alec Lindstrom and Miami S Bubba Bolden. Here are the full rosters for this week’s East-West Shrine game.
