Top receiver prospect in practice scuffle … It has not been a good week for USC or star junior WR JuJu Smith-Schuster. The 6th ranked Trojans had been expected to give defending national champion Alabama a real test when they kicked off the season in Arlington on Saturday, but it was no contest as the Tide handed USC a 52-6 pasting. And it was particularly frustrating loss for Smith-Schuster, arguably the top receiver prospect for the 2017 draft who was looking for a breakout game in front of a national audience, but instead was completely shutdown by the Alabama defense and ultimately finished the contest with just one catch for a measly 9 yards. The yesterday with the Trojans back at practice, Smith-Schuster got into a spirited fight with one of the USC DBs and then briefly walked off the field; he did rejoin his teammates, but was held out of further drills by the coaching staff. In the end not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things, but it is something that NFL personnel people will take note of and will want to ask about during pre-draft testing.
