Star Tide OLB charged with gun possession … Alabama OLB Tim Williams, a potential first-round pick for the 2017 draft, was arrested early this morning and charged with carrying a pistol without a permit. Williams reportedly admitted to police that the gun was his and thought the temporary permit he’d been given by the gun seller covered him, however, he actually needs a valid permit to carry a concealed firearm. For now, the school is reportedly investigating the incident before announcing any suspension. Needless to say, NFL types will also have plenty of questions for Williams at pre-draft questions. And while the legal stuff is going to be disconcerting enough to pro personnel people, the bigger issue may relate to Williams’ maturity as he was reportedly found in a car in a parking lot at 2 AM in the morning with someone who claimed he was holding a bag of marijuana for a friend named “Brandon Chicken.” You just can’t make this stuff up.
