Star Irish DB out for UNC this week; Canes S for year … Notre Dame officials are still waiting for a confirmed diagnosis, but for now star safety Kyle Hamilton, a top 5 prospect for the 2022 draft, has been ruled out of this week’s game against North Carolina. Hamilton limped off the field at halftime of Saturday night’s game against Southern California and did not return after the break after he fell awkwardly while making a tackle earlier in the game. Notre Dame is still saying that there does not appear to be any structural damage to his knee, but should more after Hamilton undergoes further testing today.
Meanwhile, the news wasn’t anywhere near as positive for Miami FS Bubba Bolden, who will miss the remainder of the year because of a lingering shoulder injury. Bolden, who more than one NFL team had rated as the #2 safety for the upcoming draft behind Notre Dame’s Hamilton, originally injured the shoulder in the latter part of September and tried to play through it; however, his play suffered and it wasn’t getting any better.
