Shrine, NFLPA star games get underway … Both the East-West Shrine and NFLPA all-star games get underway later today in St. Petersburg and Carson City respectively. And while neither game will feature the same talent level as next week’s Senior Bowl in Mobile, there will still be plenty of mid- and late round prospects to check out in these two events, especially the Shrine game. Indeed, players who will be in St. Petersburg include QBs Vernon Adams of Oregon, Western Kentucky’s Brandon Doughty and Nate Sudfield of Indiana; WRs Devon Cajuste of Stanford and UMass’ Tajae sharpe; OTs Brandon Shell of South Carolina, Tyler Marz of Wisconsin and Tyler Johnstone of Oregon State; DE Aziz Shittu of Stanford; DTs Luther Maddy of Virginia Tech and Anthony Zettel of Penn State; Florida State LB Terrance Smith; and Minnesota CB Briean Boddy-Calhoun. Star Navy QB Keenan Reylnolds, the NCAA’s all-time career rushing TD record holder, will also be in St. Pete’s, although he will work primarily as a RB this week. Meanwhile, the annual Canadian contingent at this year’s Shrine game includes offensive linemen Sean McEwen of Calgary and Laval’s Charles Vaillancourt, along with Manitoba DT David Onyemata. Here are the full East-West Shrine rosters for both the East and West teams. Plus as usual, the GBN’s own Pigskin Paul Guillemette will be on the ground filing reports from St. Petersburg all week. Meanwhile, players to watch across the country at NFLPA game include QBs Trevone Boykin of TCU, Utah’s Travis Wilson, Northwestern State’s Steven Rivers, the younger brother of the Chargers’ Philip Rivers, and record-setting Matt Johnson of Bowling Green; LBs Reggie Northrup of Florida State, Michigan’s James Ross and Ian Seau of Nevada; Auburn WR Ricardo Louis; Texas A&M C Mike Matthews; and Southern Cal DT Antwuan Woods. Here are the full NFLPA rosters. For the record, the actual games for both the Shrine and NFLPA events are scheduled for Saturday the 23rd with the Shriners to kick-off at 4 PM ET on the NFL Network, while the NFLPA game will start at 6 PM ET on ESPN2. As well, the NFLPA practices on Wednesday and Thursday will be telecast on ESPNU and streamed on WatchESPN.
