Star game invites … If it’s mid-November a young man’s fancy turns toward all-star games? Well maybe not quite yet as the major post-season collegiate all-star games are still a couple of months away, however, the names of players who have been invited to the various games this coming January have started to leak out. Dynamic San Diego State scatback Donnel Pumphrey, for example, has been invited to this year’s Senior Bowl in Mobile, as has rising Arkansas TE Jeremy Sprinkle and Bucknell OT Juli’en Davenport, one of the top prospects this year from outside the ranks of FBS teams. Again nothing is official with these players as they still have to confirm their attendance and then actually how up, but for now here’s the list of players known to have at least been invited to one of this year’s major all-star games which we will attempt to keep updated as we move closer to these games. And what makes the info particularly interesting is that it gives some idea which players NFL teams actually consider draftable as the league has a lot of input into who gets invited as to which players the pros really want to see in these scenarios.
