Top QBs to Shrine hilites star roster news … Intrepid GBN college investigative reporter Larry P reports that the East-West Shrine all-star game announced the addition of 13 new players including star QBs Brandon Doughty of Western Kentucky and Navy’s Keenan Reynolds, although the latter will actually work with the RBs in St. Petersburg. The Shrine game also introduced Laval OG Charles Vaillancourt and Calgary C Sean McEwen as the game’s two Canadian representatives. Meanwhile, the other Shrine additions include WRs Robby Anderson of Temple and Notre Dame’s Chris Brown; Nebraska OT Alex Lewis; OGs Chase Farris of Ohio State and Alex Huettel from Bowling Green; DEs Bronson Kaufusi of BYU, Notre Dame’s Romeo Okwara and Mike Rose of North Carolina State; OLBs Terrance Smith of Florida State and Victor Ochi of Stony Brook; and Florida CB Brian Poole. Of note Temple’s Anderson and Stony Brook’s Ochi- had earlier accepted NFLPA star game invites. Speaking of the NFLPA Classic, they have announced the names of 13 more players who have accepted invitations to participate in that game including Georgia Tech FB Patrick Skov, OT Paul Flores from Azusa Pacific; DTs Calvin Heurtelou and Ufomba Kamalu of Miami, Kyle Peko of Oregon State, Taniela Tupou of Washington and Destiny Vaeao of Washington State; OLB Myke Tavarres of Incarnate Word; CBs Jimmy Pruitt of San Jose State and Purdue’s Frankie Williams; UTEP FS Kelvin Fisher; and long snappers Reid Ferguson of LSU and Gerogia’s Nathan Theus.
