Rising Sooners’ TE Calcaterra retires … Oklahoma junior TE Grant Calcaterra has decided to retire from football because of multiple concussions, including a recent one in practice. The 6-4, 227-pound Calcaterra was a rising prospect, who had been #6 on the GBN positional ranking, has barely played this year because of the injuries after posting breakout numbers in 2018 when he had 26 receptions for almost 400 yards and 6 TDs as he made the first-team all-conference unit. Calcaterra reportedly plans to move back home to California and become a firefighter. At the same time, Arizona junior RB J.J. Taylor has announced that he will be entering the 2020 draft. Taylor is a mini-scatback (5-6, 185) who made some All-America teams in 2018 when he ran for over 1,400 yards. His rushing numbers are down somewhat this year as he has had fewer touches, as he has been used more in the passing game. Taylor is considered to be a mid-to-late round prospect for the upcoming draft.
