Shrine practices set to get underway … While most of the football world is focused on Sunday’s NFL conference championship games, all-star week also gets underway this weekend with the 4 days of practices for Thursday’s East-West Shrine game set to start on Saturday. And assuming the Shrine organization follows the normal pattern, Saturday’s practices will be in shells followed by two days in full pads on Sunday and Monday and wrapping up with walk-thrus on Tuesday. Kick-off for the actual Shrine game on Thursday is set for 8 PM ET in Frisco, Texas with coverage on the NFL Network. The Shrine game, of course, is the #2 game on the all-star game schedule after the Senior Bowl, but this year’s game has still has attracted some decent prospects for the 2024 draft including QBs Devin Leary, Kedon Slovis, Taulia Tagovailoa and Austin Reed, along with RBs Jabari Small and Carson Steele; WR Malik Washington; OT Walter Rouse; OGs Christian Mahogany and Karsten Barnhart; DEs Zion Tupuola-Fetui, Mo Kamara, and Edge Cooper; LBs Curtis Jacobs and Steele Chambers; CB Beanie Bishop and S Trey Taylor. It is also worth noting that Toronto CB Qwan’Tez Stiggers, the Canadian league’s rookie of the year this past season, is on the E-W roster meaning that he has entered the draft. Also note that not everybody on the original rosters actually show. Here are the rosters for the Shrine game’s East and West teams. Meanwhile, players will start arriving in Mobile for this year’s Senior Bowl on Sunday.
