Senior Bowl wraps in Mobile; its on to Indy

January 31, 2026

Its on to Indy after Senior Bowl wraps in Mobile … A rather lackluster Senior Bowl game ended just a few minutes ago with the American team defeating the National side 17-9. LSU QB Garrett Nussmeier was named the game’s MVP after he led the Nationals to TDs on their first two drives, while Missouri DE Zion Young was named the defensive player of the game. It certainly didn’t help that the game was played in cold, blustery conditions; how cold was? The players spent most of their afternoons fighting for a space next to a portable heater on the sidelines. Meanwhile, next up for the NFL and the draft process is the annual scouting combine which gets underway on February 23rd in Indianapolis with the on-field workouts scheduled to run from the 26th thru March 1st. However, before we get there, most teams will be giving their road-weary personnel departments a week or so off to recharge their batteries, get re-acquainted with their families and maybe get a little laundry done before they all re-convene in their respective war rooms to plot out which prospects they want to focus on at the combine.
