New Senior Bowl trend … Here’s a bit of a trivia question coming out of this year’s Senior Bowl: what do QB Jaren Hall, WRs Tank Dell, Rashee Rice, Dontayvion Wicks and Puka Nacua, OTs Jaelyn Duncan, Ryan Hayes, and Dawand Jones, C Jarrett Patterson, DEs Keion White, Ade Adebamore, Ike Foskey, and Will McDonald, LB Dorian Williams, CBs Julius Brents and Rejzohn Wright and S DeMarco Hellams have in common. And the answer, if you haven’t guessed already, is that they participated in the practices this week, but did not play in the game. Of course, several like Ohio State’s Jones were held out because of an injury, but it appears most, likely on advice from their agent, simply opted not to play, either for fear of injury or that an off day might hurt their draft chances. Of course, players opted not to come at all to the Senior Bowl in the past, but I don’t recall many ever then deciding not to play in the game. One wonders if that will be a growing trend in the future as there really isn’t much to be gained from playing in the actual game. Stay tuned!
