Seahawks continue housecleaning; send star WR Metcalf to Steelers for #2 pick … Quite literally just hours after shipping QB Geno Smith to Las Vegas, Seattle unloaded another key veteran as the Seahawks have agreed to send star WR DK Metcalf to Pittsburgh for a 2nd round pick – #52 overall – at the upcoming draft. The teams will also reportedly flip 6th and 7th round picks to complete the deal. The 27-year-old Metcalf then signed a 4Y, $132M contract extension with the Steelers. In addition, Seattle also released veteran WR Tyler Lockett which would seem to put them in a true rebuilding phase. For the record, with the trades of Smith and Metcalf, the Seahawks now have 5 picks in the first three rounds of the 2025 draft, but only one of those – #18 in the opening round – is within the top 50 picks.
