Saving the best for last

March 2, 2024

Wow!! Saving the best for last … We now have times for all the WRs (although note that the numbers for the second group are still unofficial.) And the last guy down the track – Xavier Worthy of Texas – blew the field away with a remarkable. now-official 4.21 clocking, breaking John Ross’ long-standing all-time 40 record at the combine. Of note, though, Worthy is genuinely spindly at 5-11, 165. At the same time, LSU’s served notice that he might like to make the big three receivers the big four after he posted a 4.34 clocking, whil North Carolina’s Tez Walker made up for at least some of the drops in the Senior Bowl running a 4.36 40. Speaking of the big three receivers, the only one to run today was Rome Odunze who clocked a very respectable 4.45.
