Saints top pick to IR … New Orleans has DT Sheldon Rankins, the team’s first-round pick at the 2016 draft, on injured reserve. Rankins, whom the Saints selected with the 12th pick overall this past April, underwent surgery to repair a broken fibula suffered in training camp in mid-August. Rankins will have to sit out the next weeks, but could return to action after that.
