Reporter does med testing

March 1, 2017

Reporter undergoes – endures – combine medical testing … While the on-field stuff like the 40 get most of the national headlines, much of the really important work at the combine goes on behind closed doors. Indeed, the original purpose of the combine was to centralize the medical testing every prospect undergoes. And for those that haven’t read it already, Indianapolis Star reporter Greg Doyel put himself through the same medical tests that the players will undergo this week. Here’s his report. It also can’t be stressed enough that the medical tests are extremely important this year because so many top prospects including LSU RB Len Fournette (ankle), Alabama LB Reuben Foster (shoulder), Clemson WR Mike Williams (neck), Western Michigan WR Corey Davis (ankle), Washington WR John Ross (knees/shoulder), Wisconsin OT Ryan Ramczyk (hip), UCLA ER Takk McKinley (shoulder), and Ohio State safety Malik Hooker (hip) have serious health issues that could hav e a major impact on their ultimate draft status.
