Raiders win; Texans up to #1 … Just a quick update on the selection order for the 2023 draft. As noted yesterday, there will be a new #1 in this week’s ‘unposted’ selection order after Las Vegas knocked off Denver for its first victory. That leaves 0-3-1 Houston as the league’s only remaining winless team after the Texans lost at home to the LA Chargers. It would also leave Houston with the #1 pick were the draft to be held this week. However, Las Vegas wouldn’t fall all that far with their first win as the Raiders would be flipping with Carolina for the 2-3 picks with Philadelphia with a pick from New Orleans at #4 and Pittsburgh at #5. Meanwhile, the 6th pick won’t be decided until after tonight’s Monday night game in San Francisco where the 49ers host the LA Rams. A loss by the 49ers and Miami will be sitting on the 6th pick with the 49ers selection, at lest for the week. And again, we note that this is kid of fun to talk about, but it is still very early and a lot can change in a very short period as all the teams are still very close in terms of wins.
