Raiders’ Smith to sit out Sunday

Raiders’ Smith to sit out Sunday … The path to the first pick at the 2026 draft got a little murkier today when Las Vegas confirmed that starting QB Geno Smith will not play Sunday when the Raiders wrap up their regular schedule against Kansas City. And while the ‘tanking’ finger will be pointed at the Raiders, who will get the #1 pick overall at the upcoming draft if they lose to the Chiefs this weekend, the fact is that Smith was forced out of last Sunday’s loss at the Giants. With Smith out, the Raiders will reportedly play both back-ups Kenny Pickett and Aidan O’Connell. Of course, the Chiefs come into Vegas in worse shape as both Patrick Mahomes and back-up Gardner Minshew are out, while Chris Oladokun, who had thrown all of 38 passes in his career to date.
