Raiders’ cut QB Carr … To absolutely no one’s surprise, Las Vegas has released QB Derek Carr a day before the $40M contract extension he signed last year kicked in fully guaranteed. Carr contract extension kick in. Carr did spend a couple of days in New Orleans late last week at this hour visiting with the Saints for a second day after he had been given permission by the Raiders to explore trade options for himself, but the talks failed because the Saints needed Carr to accept a pay cut in order to get him under the cap. Carr now hits the open market where one has to figure that teams like the NY Jets, Carolina, Washington, and Atlanta could be very interested. Meanwhile, the Raiders, who have the 7th pick in this year’s draft, now need a new QB, although to get one of the top guys this year they may have to look to trade up. Stay tuned!
