QB2 enters draft; other college notes … North Carolina QB Drake Maye, the consensus #2 prospect at the position behind USC’s Caleb Williams, has confirmed that he will in fact be entering the 2024 draft; Maye will also be skipping the Tar Heels bowl game later this month. At the same time, a couple of other veteran prospects who do not have to formally apply for entry to this year’s draft have also indicated that they will be passing on their respective team’s bowl appearance in order to start prepping for the pre-draft testing process. They are UCLA DE Laiatu Latu, an emerging top ten candidate for 2024, and Notre Dame QB Sam Hartman. On the other hand, a pair of quality 4th year RBs in Tajh Brooks, the 4th leasing rusher in the country last fall, and Rutgers’ Kyle Monagai, the Big Ten’s leading rusher this season, have both indicated that they will be returning to school for the 2024 campaign.
