QB Wentz back to NFC East … Carson Wentz is back in the NFC East. Wentz, who played his first 5 years in the NFL in Philadelphia, has been acquired by Washington in a trade with Indianapolis. In return, the Colts will reportedly get two 3rd round picks. The exact details of the deal have yet to be released but presumably the Colts will get the 73rd pick in this year’s draft, and the other presumably in 2023 as that’s the Commanders only third rounder this year. Its actually a pretty puny return for Indianapolis who sent Philadelphia a third rounder last year and what turned out to be a first rounder this coming April for one year of Wentz’ services. It also leaves the Colts without a viable option at QB as Sam Ehlinger, a 2021 6th rounder, and James Morgan are the only two QBs currently on the roster and neither has ever thrown a pass in the NFL. On the other hand, the acquisition of Wentz should take the pressue off the Commanders to address the position at the 2021 draft.
