PSU duo enters draft

PSU duo enters draft … Penn State QB Christian Hackenberg and DT Austin Johnson both indicated in post-game interviews after today’s bowl loss to Georgia that they would be entering the 2016 draft. Hackenberg, who injured his shoulder against the Dawgs and spent the second half in civvies on the sidelines, was once considered to be the #1 prospect for this year’s draft, but saw his stock plummet in the wake of a very disappointing season in which he completed just 53% of his pass attempts. Johnson, on the other hand, is one of the rising stars of the 2016 draft; he’s huge at 6-3, 325, but is light enough on his feet to have been a high school basketball star.  Both are currently rated as second-round prospects but both have the potential to move well up into the opening round. The addition of the two Penn Staters pushes the number of underclassmen declaring in one way or another for the upcoming draft to over 50.
