Pro days winding down

April 2, 2018

Pro days winding down … Just about all the major college football programs across the country held their pro days in March, however, there are still a handful of dates left on the annual pro day schedule. The biggest workout left for this week in Wednesday when LSU holds its pro day. On Tuesday, North Carolina, Boise State and Duke hold their on-campus workouts, while Arkansas State and Louisiana-Lafayette go on Thursday with Memphis set to wrap things up on Friday. With the pro day schedule winding down, the focus of NFL teams will shift to private workouts and on-site visits. Teams that wish to workout a player must do so at the player’s school or at a location in his hometown. Today, for example, Washington WR/KR Dante Pettis who was not able to workout at either the combine or his regular pro day because of his ankle injury will hold a private workout at UW. At the same time, each NFL team can bring up to 30 prospects in for visits at their team HQs. At that time, players can be interviewed and have medical tests, but they are not allowed to do anything on the field. Also this week, players who had major injury issues will return to Indianapolis for follow-up tests to monitor their progress. Meanwhile, the personnel departments of every team will start gathering in their draft war rooms to put the finishing touches on their value boards and strategies for the 2018 draft.
