Pro Day schedule

March 5, 2018

No rest for weary scouts … Anyone looking for a little break after the grueling scouting combine week in Indianapolis probably needs to find another line of work. Indeed, pro scouts won’t have time to do much more than grab a shower and some clean clothes as the pro day schedule gets underway later this week. And it starts with a bang as the very first pro day will be at national champion Alabama on Wednesday. Here’s the full pro day schedule. Of course, many of the top prospects for the 2018 draft have already worked at the combine and most are likely to stand on their numbers from Indianapolis, although most are likely to at least participate in positional drills. However, there are still plenty of players who either weren’t invited to the combine or didn’t do the full workout in Indianapolis. The other fascinating aspect of the pro day regime is just which teams send which specific reps to the various workouts. Its hardly a perfect correlation, but if a team does send a senior exec or coach to a particular workout its an indication that they have at least some interest in a player. In that regard, it will be interesting to see which teams send which execs to the pro days of the top QB prospects. For the record, Baker Mayfield is scheduled to work out at Oklahoma on March 14; UCLA’s Josh Rosen goes one day later on the 15th in LA; while Southern Cal’s Sam Darnold is scheduled to workout on March 21st. On the other hand, it does not appear that Josh Allen’s pro day at Wyoming has been scheduled yet but we are working on it.
