Pre-season kicks off with HOF game … The NFL pre-season schedule gets underway layer this evening when the LA Chargers face Detroit in the annual Hall-of-Fame game in Canton, Ohio. The actual kick-off is slated for just after 8 PM ET this evening with coverage on NBC. Of course, the full 3-week pre-season schedule begins next week. And while both the Chargers and Lions are definitely playoff contenders heading into the season don’t expect to see much of either’s top stars like QBs Justin Herbert and/or Jared Goff. However, Lions’ back-up QBs Kyle Allen and Hendon Hooker could get plenty of snaps as they are locked in a tight battle for the team’s #2 slot behind Goff. For the record, the teams top 2025 draft picks are RB Omarion Hampton of the Chargers and DT Tyliek Williams of the Lions who were the 22nd and 28th picks overall respectively in this past April’s opening round.
