Hairston, Porter steal show at CB combine run … With Will Johnson and Travis Hunter, the top-rated corners for this year’s draft, sitting out today’s on-field testing for CBs, it fell to a couple of intriguing second-tier guys to steal the show as Max Hairston of Kentucky posted a blistering 4.29 clocking, while 6-3 Darien Porter of Iowa State clocked in at 4.30. In fact, a number of other CBs broke the 4.40 mark including Caleb Ransaw of Tulane (4.33), Jacob Parrish of Kansas State (4.36), and Zah Frazier of UTSA (4.37), while Jahdae Barron of Texas, arguably the top rated CB who did run today, along with Minnesota’s Justin Walley, and Rutgers Robert Longerbeam each posted very good 4.40 times. Along with Texas’ Barron, we scouts were alos very interested in Trey Amos of Mississippi who was also solid with a 4.44 clocking. In fact it was a pretty fast group all round as 19 of the 24 corners that did run this afternoon ran the 40 in 4.50 seconds or less. Also of note several other corners that NFL scouts were hoping to see run today including Shavon Revel of East Carolina who is rehabbing from a torn ACL, and Az Thomas of Florida State, also opted to sit out along with Hunter and Johnson. Here are the full unofficial results from today’s CB run.
