Senior Bowl dominates star game draft days … If its late July and the temp is over 100 degrees a young football player’s fancy turns to the post-season all-star games. Well not really, but the all-star games will be getting underway in just 6 months and in fact the major all-star games are already putting together their early watch lists. Of course, not all post-season all-star games are created equal. Indeed, GBN Associate Editor has run the numbers on how many players from each of the three major all-star games – the Senior Bowl, Shrine game and NFLPA Classic – were drafted this past April and, no surprise, the Senior Bowl dominated. In fact, roughly 8 out of 10 players in Mobile at this year’s Senior Bowl game were drafted, more than twice the figure for either of the other two games. Read more
