Peterson update

April 6, 2015

Peterson, commish to meet over suspension … Suspended Minnesota RB Adrian Peterson will reportedly meet with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell on Tuesday regarding his potential reinstatement. Peterson, who was suspended last fall after he was charged with child abuse for injuring his 4-year-old son with a wooden switch. Peterson ultimately avoided jail time by reaching a deal with prosecutors in which he pled no contest. Peterson is eligible for reinstatement on April 15 and the Vikings have stated publicly that they want him back despite the fact he has a huge $15M cap hit this year. Peterson, though, is reportedly not happy with the support, or lack thereof, he received from the Vikings during the issue and has stated he wants out. And that has triggered speculation that in the end the Vikings may have little choice but to deal Peterson who has not been shy about saying he’d really like to play in Dallas. And the Cowboys have some issues at RB after DeMarco Murray was allowed to leave via free agency last month. In fact, there may be as many as a half dozen teams believed to be in the market for a #1 RB this off-season including Arizona, Baltimore, San Diego, Jacksonville, Atlanta, and St. Louis.
