Lions back to #1; Texans second in weekly selection order … With Las Vegas in fact defeating Houston earlier this evening, Detroit will have the #1 pick in the weekly ‘if the draft were held today’ selection order for the opening round of the 2023 draft. Houston will have the second pick, at least for the week, while Carolina which stunned Tampa Bay in an early game today, will drop down to the third spot. Meanwhile, Philadelphia, the league’s only remaining unbeaten, has to be chortling to themselves as they’ll be sitting on the 4th pick this week, courtesy of a pre-draft trade with New Orleans last spring, while Houston will be right back on the clock with the 5th pick acquired in the Deshaun Watson trade with Cleveland.
