Rising Sooners’ WR Brown out of combine; OU pro day … While we were off the grid the past couple of days. Oklahoma confirmed that star WR Marquise Brown, one of the top prospcets at the position for the upcoming draft, will miss both scouting combine later this month as well as the Sooners’ pro day early in March after undergoing surgery to repair a LisFranc injury to his foot last month. Brown, though, is expected to be ready for summer training camp next summer. This a tough break for Brown, who was expected to be one of the fastest players at the combine, as there was a buzz growing around the league that he had emerged as the #1 WR in this year’s draft class with the potential to crack the top 10. Its not clear at this time whether the injury will impact that momentum although it certainly isn’t going to help.
