OU QB Mateer probable for Red River Shootout … It now appears that rising Oklahoma QB John Mateer could very well play when the 6th ranked Sooners play Texas in their annual red River Shootout in Dallas tomorrow afternoon. While we won’t know for sure until kick-off tomorrow, Mateer has been listed as probably for the game on the school’s latest injury list. Mateer was starting to get a ton of buzz both about the Heisman Trophy, as well as the 2o26 draft early in the season, but missed the past couple of weeks while recovering from surgery on a broken bone in his right hand.
