OU QB Mateer out a month with hand injury … Oklahoma QB John Mateer, an early Heisman front-runner and a rising draft prospect, is expected to miss about a month after suffering a broken bone in his throwing hand in Saturday’s win over Auburn. Mateer is scheduled to undergo surgery tomorrow. Unfortunately, if Mateer does miss the next month he’ll miss the 4-0 Sooners big game with Texas on October 11th as well as a conference road game at South Carolina the following week.
