‘Other’ star game set to kick-off … With players for this coming week’s East-West Shrine and NFLPA all-star games starting to filter into St. Petersburg and Carson City, respectively, the inaugural Tropic Bowl all-star game is set to kick-off within the hour in North Miami Beach. For the most part, the players in the Tropic Bowl are second-tier prospects just hoping to catch somebody’s eye as a possible free agent or candidate for the Canadian league; however, there are several names in the Tropic Bowl that most people will at least recognize including Miami CB Tracy Howard, Minnesota DE Thierren Cochran and Georgia TE Jay Rome.
