OSU WR Wilson enters draft; will skip Rose Bowl … Ohio State junior WR Garrett Wilson, one of the top 3-4 prospects at the position for the 2022 draft, has confirmed that he will be entering the upcoming draft. he also also confirmed that he will skip this weekend’s Rose Bowl to begin draft preparations. Wilson, in fact, is one of four Buckeyes to have indicated they will not play Saturday against Utah. The others include junior OT Nicholas Petit-Frere, who as far as we can tell has not formally announced he too is entering the draft, as well as seniors Chris Olive, another first-round WR candidate, and DT Haskell Garrett. The fact that players are now opting out of even the Rose Bowl has to be of concern to bowl organizers. Of course, players have been dropping out of minor bowls for several years now, but nobody was opting out of the CFP playoff games or the traditional big bowls such as the Rose. But the players are voting with their feet. They want to be in the playoff, not a meaningless game and that is where the playoff system is taking college football.
