Another snag for Ole Miss QB Chad Kelly … Mississippi QB Chad Kelly hoped to finally show his stuff in front of NFL personnel people at the team’s pro day today, but his day was cut short because of wrist injury. Kelly had planned to go through a scripted 45-throw workout, but had to cut things short after barely attempting ten passes. Kelly has scheduled a private workout for teams on April 22nd for one last shot at it. Kelly was one of the top senior QB prospects this year, but saw his season end prematurely when he tore an ACL. Despite the injury, Kelly was originally invited to the combine, but then had his invitation revoked because of some off-field issues. As a result, Kelly’s draft prospects are very much up in the air. There is one school of thought that he still has some of the best potential of any of this year’s somewhat iffy QB and could still conceivably get a late second day or early third day call later this month. However, there is another school of thought which suggests that because of all the red flags Kelly might have to hope for a free-agent offer after the draft. Stay tuned!
