‘Noles safety James enters draft … Pretty much as expected, Florida State redshirt sophomore safety Derwin James has announced that he is passing on his final year of eligibilty and will enter the 2018 draft. James also indicated that he will not participate in the Seminoles’ bowl game. James was one of the top defensive players in the country as a freshman in 2015, but missed almost all of the following season after he tore an MCL. James returned to action this fall, but struggled at times although he did come on later in the year and finished with 84 tackles and 2 picks and made the All-ACC team. James is still considered to be a top 10-15 prospect for the upcoming draft, but his draft status will depend to some degree on how the knee checks out at the combine medical tests.
