Nix, Rattler tear up workouts; other pro day notes … According to reports, both of QBs Bo Nix of Oregon and South Carolina’s Spencer Rattler threw the ball well at their respective pro days earlier today. Of course, they were the usual scripted 60 or so passes against air and likely aren’t going to change anyone’s grade, but Nix in particular reportedly got the ball downfield with ease here and here and here and here and here which he hopes will dispel concerns about his arm strength. For the record, though, Nix who did not run at the combine also opted not to do any testing at the Ducks pro day. Meanwhile, South Carolina’s Rattler also reportedly threw the ball well. though like Nix it does appear that the USC pro day did not attract any senior NFL personnel execs. All teams were represented at the Gamecocks’ workout though as were as many as 4 CFL teams. And while the big news for Wednesday will be the start of the NFL new football year when all those FA signings and trades become official, it will also be a key day on the pro day circuit with Georgia slated to hold its workout. No doubt, there’ll be a good turn out for that one; in particular teams will be interested to see whether the Dawgs’ star TE Brock Bowers will workout after he passed on the physical testing at the combine. Other pro days on Wednesday include workouts at Arkansas, Arizona State and Michigan State.
