FCS stars moving on … With their Missouri Valley Conference schedule shifted to the spring because of the pandemic, three interesting Northern Iowa prospects appear to be moving on. Massive OT Spencer Brown, a senior with a top 100 grade for the upcoming draft, for example, has simply decided to opt out for the year and enter the 2021 draft. For the record, Brown is a 6-9, 320 pounder that more than one scout thinks could get some late first round consideration once all is said and done. Meanwhile, DE Elerson Smith and CB Xavior Williams have both reportedly entered the transfer portal. Smith, who many feel is the top FCS defensive prospect for this year’s draft after posting 14 sacks last fall, would be a really interesting transfer option for the remaining FBS conferences which still hope to play this fall.
