NFLPA, Shrine games on tap

January 29, 2022

NFLPA star game on tap … The real all-star game action doesn’t start until early next week when the Senior Bowl gets underway in Mobile, but there is a post-season star game on today with the NFLPA Classic scheduled for a 6 PM kick-off at the Rose Bowl in Los Angeles. The game will be covered on the NFL Network. However, with all the top prospects headed to Mobile next week, today’s game doesn’t have much in the way of top-100 type talent for the upcoming draft, although there are several players in each that folks will want to check out. The headliners at the NFLPA game, for example, include veteran LBs Josh Ross of Michigan and Clemson’s James Skalski, along with Ole Miss DE Sam Williams and Iowa safety Greg Eisworth. The QBs at the union game include Brandon Peters of Illinois and California’s Chase Garbers, along with small-school stars Cole Kelley of Southeastern Louisiana, who led all FCS passers with other 5,000 yards thru the air this season, along with Elon’s Davis Cheek, Chris Oladokun of South Dakota State and Zerrick Cooper of Jacksonville State. Here are the full rosters for the NFLPA Game. For the record, the East-West Shrine game will be played this coming Thursday in Las Vegas, while the Senior Bowl kicks off next Saturday in Mobile.
