NFL to review combine ops … According to a report in USA Today, the NFL has formed a committee to review all aspects of the annual scouting combine which gets underway in Indianapolis later this week. According to the report, the committee will be looking at everything from the relevance of some of the current tests to the possibility of using advanced technology and metrics to evaluate players. This all comes in the wake of growing concern that the current approach, which hasn’t changed in several decades, is behind the times from a technological stance; there is also concern that the value of many of the tests have been devalued by the fact that so many players now spend so much time preparing for the combine.
