NFL releases early list of draft-eligible juniors

NFL releases early list of draft-eligible juniors … The NFL has released a list of 34 players who have already been granted special eligibility for the 2024 draft. Because the NFL now allows draft-eligible underclassmen to participate one of the post-season all-star games, 3rd year players were actually given a ‘soft’ deadline of January 5th to permit those interested in participating in a post-season game a little more time to get in touch with all-star game organizers in the planning and invitation process. However, the hard deadline for underclassmen to submit a petition to the league is still January 15th. Here is the full list of the 34 players who are eligible to play in all-star games. It include many of the usual suspects such as North Carolina QB Drake Maye and OTs John Alt of Notre Dame and Georgia’s Amarius Mims, along with several lesser (very lesser) known prospects including WR Ajou Ajou, a Canadian to played originally at USF, Harvard OT Kiran Amegadjie and Monmouth RB Jaden Shirden. For the record, the list also indicates that several other players who we had not seen anything for to date including Notre Dame OT Blake Fisher and DT Leonard Taylor and S James Williams have indeed entered the draft.
