New Year’s Day Bowls prospect preview … With the exception of next week’s national championship game between Alabama and Clemson, the college football bowl season wraps up on Tuesday with a full slate of 5 games. While they are all technically meaningless games designed to make everybody the players some cash, figure than Georgia, Ohio State and Central Florida, which play Texas, Washington and LSU respectively in the Sugar, Rose and Fiesta Bowls still have a little something to prove; to wit that they actually deserved to be in the real college playoffs. And with ranked teams across the board later today, there will be plenty of 2019 draft prospects to grade. GBN Associate Editor Pigskin Paul Guillemette profiles who he’ll be watching in both the Rose Bowl match-up between Ohio State and Washington as well the Outback dual between Iowa and Mississippi State. Meanwhile, here’s a preview of who to to watch in the day’s other three games including LSU and UCF in the Fiesta, Kentucky versus Penn State in the Citrus and Texas and Georgia in the Sugar. Enjoy. And oh yeah: HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone from all of us here at the GBN!
