New #1 with Lions’ win … There will be a new team sitting atop the proverbial ‘if the draft were held today’ selection for the first-round of the 2016 draft after Detroit won at Green Bay 18-16 to drop out of the top spot. For this week anyway, Cleveland which lost to Pittsburgh to drop to 2-8, would have the first pick overall. However, that’s largely because the Browns have played one more game than the other 2-win teams which are all 2-7 after this week’s play. In fact, Tennessee has the worst SOS record of all the two-win teams, although there is almost no statistically significant difference between the strength of schedule records of the Titans, Baltimore, San Diego and Cleveland whose combined opponents win totals are all withing two games of each other. For the record, if the draft were held today, it would be Cleveland, followed by Tennessee, Baltimore, San Diego, Cleveland, Detroit and Dallas (although that order could possibly change depending on the results of the Sunday and Monday night games. As usual, the full weekly updated selection order for the opening round of the 2016 draft will be posted after tomorrow night’s Monday night game.
