NDSU QB Lance ‘not sharp’ in lone fall appearance … By his own admission, star North Dakota State redshirt sophomore QB Trey Lance was ‘not sharp’ in what will be his only game this fall. Lance, who more than one team grades right up there with the likes of Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence and Justin Fields of Ohio State at the top of their 2021 Big Boards, did pass for two scores and ran for two more in leading the defending FCS national champion Bison to a 39-28 win over Central Arkansas. However, Lance completed just 15 of 30 passes overall and threw the first pick of his career, ending a remarkable streak of over 300 passes without an interception. The 6-4 Lance, though, did impress with his feet as he ran for 143 yards and those two scores. North Dakota State’s regular season was pushed back to the spring when the Missouri Valley Conference opted not to play this fall, although it is expected that Lance will use the time to prep for the upcoming draft instead.
