National team Senior Bowl practice wrap … You know its kind of a lighter practice when the offensive and defensive linemen are running routes, catching passes and working on their Heisman poses! Of course, that’s not all that happened in today’s afternoon practice at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, but like the morning session it was a whole lot more laid back than the earlier practices. So much so that there wasn’t a whole lot to report today, so we’ll get right to the best players picks for the American team, although we note that it was a much harder choice than it was for the National team this morning. Again, in no particular order the American team players that really stood out:
- DE Darius Robinson, Missouri
- DT T’Vondre Sweat, Texas
- OG Javion Cohen, Miami
- OG Christian Hayes, UConn
- WR Ja’Quan Jackson, Tulane
- OT Christian Jones, Texas
- WR Jamari Thrash, Louisville
At the same time, we felt there were a number of players on the American team that were really close to making the above list so again in no particular order the ‘honorary mention’ list: Georgia WR Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint, Florida State TE Jaheim Bell, Missouri OT Javon Foster, Texas A&M OG Layden Robinson, DTs Justin Egoigbe of Alabama, McKinnley Jackson of Texas A&M, Braden Fiske of Florida State and Marcus Harris of Auburn, CBs Jarvis Brownlee of Louisville and Fresno State’s Carlton Johnson and Georgia S Javon Bullard.
On the other hand, players that we were hoping to see a little more production from this week on the American team include Alabama ER Chris Braswell and Florida State WR Johnny Wilson, not to mention the QBs none of whom threw the ball all that well.
