National champs pro day on tap … When the annual pro day schedule was announced earlier this month, one of the dates that just about every team in the league red-circled was tomorrow’s on campus workout at national champion Georgia where a full house is expected, although it is likely that because tomorrow is also the first day of the new football year, some GMs who would ordinarily have made the trek to Athens might stay home. And most will be there to see the bevy of stars on the Georgia defense including DE Travon Walker, DTs Jordan Davis and Devonte Wyatt, LBs Nakobe Dean, Channing Tindall and Quay Walker, S Lewis Cine and CB Derion Kendrick. In fact, most already ran at the combine and are likely only going to do positional drills, however, Dean and Kendrick did not run in Indianapolis.
It was also nice to see a full house at the Central Michigan pro day earlier today where every team in the league reportedly was represented, including at least one offensive line coach. They were all there primarily to see OT Bernhard Raimann and G/T Luke Goedeke. Raimann had run at the combine, but shined in the agility drills today in which he was reportedly timed in 4.29 seconds in the short shuttle and 7.29 in the 3-cone drill. For the record, that SS time would have blown away the field in Indianapolis where no other OL got under 4.50 seconds, while the 3C time would have been second to Trevor Penning’s 7.25 at the combine. However, Goedeke was not able to participate today because of a hamstring issue. As a result, the two will hold a private workout later this month at which more offensive line coaches are expected to attend.
