More rumblings from QB Williams’ family

More rumblings from USC QB Williams’ camp … People around Southern California QB Caleb Williams, the consensus favorite to be the first player selected at the 2024 draft, continue to create a little noise about the draft. A couple of weeks ago, Williams, the returning Heisman Trophy winner from 2022, left the door open to possibly returning to school next fall when asked about the upcoming draft.More recently, his father was quoted in an magazine interview as questioning the whole draft process itself. In particular, the elder Williams said that at every stage of his football career Caleb has been able to choose where he wanted to play, but when it comes to the pros, arguably the most important venue in his career, he won’t have a choice. That has observers wondering if Williams could try and play hardball if he didn’t want to go to the team that ultimately drafts him. Baseically, he’s saying ‘what if we don’t want to play for the worst team in the league?’ Of course, he doesn’t have many options in the regard, although because of college football’s new much more liberal NIL rules, he could opt to stay in school where he’ll still likely be able to earn in the millions.
