More on Hurd transfer

October 31, 2016

Vols RB Hurd out at UT … Tennessee head coach Butch Jones has confirmed that junior Jalen Hurd is in the process of transferring to another program at the end of the year. Initial reports suggested that Hurd would finish out the year with the Volunteers, but it appears as if he gone already as he no longer appears on the Volunteers’ official roster. There are also reports that the 6-3, 240-pound Hurd, who had been considered to be a possible top 100 prospect for the 2017 draft after he ran for almost 1,300 yards and 12 scores last, may also ask to play another position such as TE wherever he ultimately lands. Of course, Hurd could also simply opt to enter the 2017 draft and take his chances. In fact, these appear to be tough times at Tennessee, which lost its third conference game in a row on Saturday at South Carolina as junior DE Jonathan Kongbo, the #1 junior college recruit in the country this season, may also be contemplating transferring or even quitting the game. Kongbo, who has had limited playing time this fall, posted a tweet last fall that read: “All things must come to an end” accompanied by a picture of a pair of clears hanging on a wall. Stay tuned.
