Missou LB Ray disappoints at pro day … All 32 NFL teams had representatives at Missouri’s pro day on Thursday. The crowd included Pittsburgh head coach Mike Tomlin and GM John Dorsey from Kansas City which is just down the road. Most were there to see Missouri OLB Shane Ray who led the SEC with 14.5 sacks last fall, but was unable to participate in on-field drills at the combine because of a toe injury. Unfortunately, Ray did not have a particularly good day; he timed in the 4.65-4.70 range, which isn’t bad, but is slow compared to the times posted by other potential top 10 OLBs including Clemson’s Vic Beasley and Nebraska’s Randy Gregory. Ray also wasn’t at all quick in the agility drills where his times were among the slowest of all the Missouri players that worked out. Hard to know whether this will hurt Ray’s grade as most scouts figure that he plays fast enough, but it isn’t going to help either.
