Milroe runs sub-4.55 40

March 19, 2025

Tide QB Milroe 40 times vary; all fast … We can confirm that Alabama QB Jalen Milroe did run the 40 at the Tide pro day  earlier today after skipping the on-field physical testing at the combine last month. However, we may never know what his exact time was as they were reported everywhere from 4.37 to 4.55. That 4.37 time was reported by the school itself, while there was an ‘official’ time quoted of 4.40 that reportedly was an average time clocked by several team scouts. Earlier reports though put Milroe’s first run in the 4.50-4.55 range, with his second in the 4.45 area. Bottom line, though, is that all those times are fast and especially fast for a QB. In fact, Milroe’s reported 10-yard split time of 1.44 seconds is really impressive; its also a little surprising as one of the things we have heard about Milroe is that while he’s fast he isn’t necessarily all that quick. In fact, nobody in the NFL doubts Milroe’s athleticism; indeed, the bigger test for Milroe will be later today when he goes thru his scripted throwing session. He certainly looked crisp throwing the ball. Here are some highlights from his throwing session. Meanwhile, a couple of other notes from the Alabama pro day. DT Tim Smith who also didn’t run at the combine clocked in at around 5.20 seconds for his run today. On the other hand, S Malachi Moore did not run again today as he is still rehabbing from post-season surgery to repair a sports hernia issue; he plans to hold a private workout on April 1st.

At the same time, we are trying to get more information on what coaches and GMs were in attendance at the Tide pro day today. So far we know that the Steelers’ guys were there, but so far no other top brass types. Anyone know of anyone else, please let us know.
