Mid-season mock fest continues; Pigskin Paul up … After GBN Chief Scout Larry Parker posted his mid-season 2022 draft opening round projection yesterday, its Associate Editor Pigskin Paul Guillemette’s turn today right here. We have made the case before that there is no such thing really as ‘just one’ mock draft. Nobody in the business – not Mel Kiper, not Daniel Jeremiah and certainly nobody here – thinks that the Minnesota Vikings are going to take a particular player with the 12th pick for example. Whoever they slot in there is going to be one of several players who would be logical picks at that point depending on who is still available. That’s why it is kind of fun to do multiple projections because that’s what NFL teams do themselves. Again, the value of a mock draft is NOT that is going to tell people which particular player a specific team is going to select at any point in the draft, but what type of players are likely to be available at that spot.
